Australian wine

Autrailian wine has grown over the past few years it is now bigger than most of the wine world , up until the sixties three quarters of its production  was fortified wine then for about ten years after that it was mainly heavy bodied red table wine, but now australia has a very dynamic range of wine. In 1973 they released thier first chardonnay by Tyrrells in the hunter valley when white wine was just beginning to boom and now in such a short time australian red and white wine is being served all over the word Australian red wine .Australia have a huge range of cabernet sauvignon and cabernet shiraz blends and a small range of australian merlot .the cabernet sauvignon and shiraz blend very well together offering you the spice from the shiraz and the chocolate from the cabernet sauvignon with a hint of blackberry The australian style of cabernet is full and fruity it is usually softer and less dry than bordeaux wines Australian pinot noir has a much longer history here than in california although australian pinot noir tends to lag behind the burgundys of france australian pinot noir is quite highly priced compared to australian standards, the wine tends to have the wonderful fruit of a young red burgundy but not the depth.
